We are wanting to add some color to the store and Riley and I keep butting heads on which one. That's where you come in! Please vote in the poll above to help us out!

We plan to paint the wall behind the register and a nook we have; so not the whole wall.

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!

We pretty much have the store complete! All we have left is some finishing touches!

I want to thank everyone for following our journey this month!! I appreciate all the wonderful comments & support! You guys are the best!

I haven't sewn anything in over a month and it's been dreadful!! But guess what! We moved my craft room into the store today!! It felt great to get back to sewing; I've missed it dearly.

10 DAYS UNTIL THE FELT BIRD OPENS!!!

Our glorious pup Dexter hasn't been to the shop since the first day. We've taken him to Riley's parents' house every morning to play with his doggie friends while we work on the store. Well, little Mr. Dexter finally got to get acquitted with the new place today!

And he approves! He also was dying to test out all the new rugs we got.



His favorite was the big rug under the feature table. He said he liked all the colors; they were pretty.

Riley put up our new window lights last night!! I LOVE them! We also moved the old colorful chairs to the window for our window display.

We also painted some of our furniture and small displays.

My favorite would have to be this table Riley painted red and grey!

Friday afternoon we got our vinyl letters on our window!! It's starting to feel real!


This is what the store looked like first thing Monday morning. Remember that slat wall? Riley stripped it and is replacing it with plywood; that should happen this week. And we're also transforming the counter into something more "us". This was the counter used by the last business there; they left it behind.

The piece of wood floating on the ground in the above picture will be our counter top!

We plan to change the counter by painting it with chalkboard paint!







Next Riley worked on base boards! He painted them the color of our ceiling; which is between black & gray.

I feel like we still have so much more to do but Riley is reassuring me that we don't. We open in 18 DAYS!!! I can't wait!! What I really can't wait for is to be passed this construction part and start setting up the store! When will that day come?! We're planning by this weekend. Crossing my fingers.
